Building a custom home is a hands-on experience for our clients. We work together to plan and build a home that fits your style and family. Each home is different, yet the building process you’ll go through is similar. To learn more from our home builders and get started, contact us today.
We start the custom home building process by meeting you, a potential client, to discuss what you’re looking for. Maybe you already have a plot of land purchased, or maybe you need help finding the right subdivision. Either way, we’ll explore your wants, needs and priorities for your new home. We might even take you to a few current job sites to show you the ropes and offer real-life examples of what we can do.
Once we’ve decided to work together, we’ll partner with an architect to draw up the plans for your home. The three of us will work together and discuss your desires and ideal budget. Then, the architect will present sketches of your home, making adjustments and revisions along the way until it’s a perfect representation of your vision.
After the plans are finalized, we really start crunching the numbers. We break down the house into over 100 categories, setting monetary allowances for each of them. Once we’ve itemized all resources and materials, we’ll present a budget.
Next, your lot will be prepared for building your home. If needed, we’ll begin excavating then pour the foundation and do the plumbing groundwork. Then the framing process begins, which often takes the longest. We use this time as an opportunity to select your home’s interior and exterior finishes with the help of a designer.
Once framing is complete, we’ll install plumbing, your HVAC system, security system and electrical work. Then, we move on to insulation. Throughout this process, we provide exceptional care to ensure your home is airtight, has proper waterproofing and is well ventilated. Finally, after your home passes its inspection, we hang sheetrock.
This is the phase where we transform your house from a construction site to a home. Your selections will be installed, including:
Tile and hardwood floors
Cabinets, crown molding and trim
Tiling and countertops
Hardware, like knobs and handles
And more!
Then, it’s time to assure the quality of your home’s carpentry and trim, as well as electrical and plumbing systems. Finally, the house is swept and the carpet is installed.
Now your home is complete and it’s time for the final walk through. We’ll admire your new home and if needed, schedule final adjustments and inspections. After closing and when everything meets your expectations, you’re free and clear to move in!
We’d love to hear from you and explain our home building process even more in depth, answering any questions you have along the way. Learn more by getting in touch with us today.
